Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WeZoom ("WeZoom", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our resume-building, ATS-analysis, and job-discovery services at wezoom.app (the "Service"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@wezoom.app.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Resume content: the information you enter or import into a resume or cover letter (work history, education, skills, and any details you choose to include). This may include data you consider sensitive — please include only what you are comfortable storing.
- Usage data: basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the Service is used (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. We do not sell this data.
- Technical data: IP address and request metadata, used for security (rate limiting, abuse prevention) and to keep the Service running.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the Service: store your resumes, compute ATS scores, generate suggestions, and surface relevant job listings.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To process payments and manage your subscription (handled by our payment processor — see §4).
- To communicate with you about your account (e.g. password resets, important changes).
- To improve and protect the Service.
Our legal bases (GDPR Art. 6) are: performance of our contract with you, your consent (for optional analytics/cookies), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
3. Your resume data & AI
WeZoom's ATS scoring, rewriting, and suggestion features run on our own deterministic, rule-based engine. Your resume content is not sent to any third-party AI provider and is not used to train external models. Your content is yours; you can edit, export, or delete it at any time.
4. Sharing & sub-processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers needed to run WeZoom, under appropriate data-processing terms:
- Hosting & database — to store and serve your account and resume data.
- Payment processing — our payment provider handles card data; WeZoom never sees or stores full card numbers.
- Email delivery — to send transactional emails (e.g. password resets).
- Job listings — job postings shown in the Service are aggregated from public job APIs; we never share your personal data with them.
5. Your rights (GDPR & similar laws)
You have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. You can:
- Edit or delete individual resumes and cover letters at any time in your dashboard.
- Permanently delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account (right to erasure).
- Request a copy of your data or exercise any other right by emailing privacy@wezoom.app.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data and resumes are permanently removed from our active systems. Limited records may be retained where required by law (e.g. payment records).
7. Cookies
We use a strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. Optional analytics cookies are only set with your consent (see the cookie banner). You can change your choice at any time by clearing the consent cookie.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, sessions use signed HTTP-only cookies, and authenticated endpoints are scoped to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-product or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
This policy is provided for transparency and should be reviewed by your own legal counsel before commercial launch in your jurisdiction.
